Family Support

Family Support

Bring me the thing—when the thing actually happens.

Parenting a neurodivergent kid doesn't happen in 50-minute appointments. The school email arrives at 10:43. The meltdown happens at 2:17. The conversation goes sideways at bedtime.

By the time your next appointment rolls around, you may have forgotten half of what happened, figured something out on your own, or be trying to explain a situation that made perfect sense in the moment but is much harder to describe three days later.

We give you somewhere to bring those things while they're still fresh.

You send me a video when something comes up. I watch when I'm available and respond with questions, reflections, perspective, and practical possibilities. Then you go back to your life.

You can bring me the actual thing.

You don't have to prepare, organize your thoughts, or turn what's happening into a neat question. You can bring whatever is taking up space in your brain.

This might include:

  • Meltdowns and dysregulation
  • School emails, meetings, and decisions
  • Communication and conflict
  • Demand avoidance and autonomy
  • Capacity and overwhelm
  • Parent guilt and shame
  • Understanding what's underneath a behavior
  • Sibling and family dynamics
  • Teen years and changing relationships
  • Your own nervous system
  • Decisions you're stuck on
  • Figuring out what actually fits your family

I'll help you slow things down and get curious about what's happening—for you, for your kid, and in the space between you.

Sometimes we'll find a practical next step. Sometimes we'll look at the situation differently. Sometimes you'll realize the thing doesn't actually need fixing.

You don't have to know whether it's “big enough” to bring. If it's taking up space, bring it.

Support that fits around real life

This is ongoing support rather than a series of scheduled sessions. You can reach out when something comes up instead of trying to remember everything until your next appointment.

You can ramble, think out loud, change your mind, or get emotional. You can send a two-minute video or a longer one. You don't have to know exactly what you need before you reach out.

We're working with what's actually happening—not just the polished version you can explain later.

How we stay connected

Most of our work happens through private video messaging. You send me a video when you need to; I watch and respond when I'm available; and you watch my response when you're ready.

This gives us some of the richness of face-to-face conversation—tone, facial expression, pauses, and all the things that can get lost in text—without requiring us to find a time when we're both available.

Why I use Marco Polo

Marco Polo is a video messaging app built around sending and responding to video messages on your own schedule.

You don't need to know anything about Marco Polo before we talk. If we decide this support is a good fit, I'll walk you through how it works and explain our response times, boundaries, and expectations.

What support can look like

You might send me a video saying, “This just happened and I have no idea what to do.”

From there, we might:

  • Slow down and unpack what happened
  • Notice what's happening in your nervous system
  • Consider what your child might be communicating
  • Look at capacity, autonomy, sensory needs, or expectations
  • Think through different ways to respond
  • Identify a practical next step
  • Experiment with something and see what happens
  • Decide that nothing needs to be done right now

This isn't about finding the one right parenting strategy. It's about understanding your particular family well enough to discover what fits.

This is for you if…

  • You're parenting a neurodivergent kid and you're tired of trying to figure everything out alone.
  • You want support that can meet you in real life—not just during scheduled appointments.
  • You don't always know what you need until you're in the middle of something.
  • You want someone who understands neurodivergence and pays attention to your nervous system.
  • You want to understand your kid without disappearing yourself in the process.
  • You're ready for support that helps you think, notice, experiment, and figure out what fits your family.

What this is—and isn't

This is ongoing support, not unlimited access to me. Before we begin, we'll agree on the length of your container, response expectations, and how we'll use the space.

Marco Polo is not a crisis service or emergency support, and I won't be available for immediate responses. This work is also not therapy, diagnosis, or a substitute for medical or mental health care.

My role is to offer another nervous system, another perspective, and a place to slow things down and think together.

You remain the expert on your family.

Let's see if we're a fit.

You don't have to figure out whether this is right for your family from a webpage. Start with a free 30-minute vibe check.

We'll talk about what's happening, what you're looking for, and what kind of support would be useful. I'll explain how Family Support works—including the Marco Polo piece—and we can decide together whether it feels like a good fit.

No pressure, and no need to have the right words. Just bring me the thing.

If we're a fit

I'll send you a short application and we'll take it from there. Once we're ready to begin, I'll get you connected and walk you through everything you need to know.

Then you can bring me the thing whenever it happens.
